Whirlpool Sales Slide

Whirlpool Corporation had net sales of $4.8 billion in the third quarter of 2022, a decrease of 12.8 per cent compared to net sales of $5.5 billion in the third quarter of 2021. Sales were impacted by double digit industry declines and elevated cost inflation, the company says. In response to the decline, it has reduced global production by 35 per cent to lower inventories. Net earnings were $143 million for the quarter, down 69.6 per cent compared to net earnings of $471 million in the year-ago period.
